SABBATH-REST

SABBATH- REST

Take a break please! For your own soul well being, pull away from the noise.Take time to do that which relaxes you. Spend time reflecting and relaxing alone with the Lord and receive the blessing that comes from being and doing this.  Your perspective will be widened. You will have a clearer purpose and defined life-knowing what is and what is not.

If God took a day to rest, called it holy and blessed the day, it does show the importance and need for rest and also there is a blessing that comes from it, which many are missing out on.Genesis 2:3.
So sad some missionaries and ministers do not see this as a need/blessing and do not place great priority on these.

In the words of Stephen Smith i quote "  Though we live in a 24/7 world, we were never created to function in one. We were created to work in one span of time and be off and rest in another. But who does that anymore? We constantly complain about being tired when we never really rest as intended by God who seeks to give to us even in our sleep? Another Hebrews poem points this out: It is useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don't you know He enjoys giving rest to those He loves? Psalm 127:2.
Today's work ethos is: Be constantly available. Because if you don't, both you and your product will be replaced by your competitor who is lying in wait like a hungry African lion, ready to devour everything around him and then look for more after he licks his lips and rest awhile. This is not about being constantly available, this is about being constantly afraid."

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.- Isaiah 58:13-14

In the words of Pastor Peter Olarenwaju i quote ," Sabbath rest is very essential to healthy living. It must be a disciplined habit for every missionary/ minister. It must not be compromised. It does not only get the minister refreshed physically, it helps in spiritual refreshing and nourishing."

THANK YOU LORD!
