BREAKING NEW GROUNDS
Sometimes missionaries/minister tend to dwell in their comfort zone and get irritated or very protective when God comes in to cause a steering/stretch. Many tend to put God in a box -"This far You can go Lord, any other is a trespass." Though some don't say this verbally, but their actions does show this. This is a great stumbling block to God's desire to break new grounds ( obedience), in their personal relationship with God and secondly in God's assignment through them here on earth.
Ministers/ Missionaries may need to re-evaluate by the help of the Holy Spirit. They should not get too comfortable. Comfort should not be a god over our life or first priority. I am not going against comfort but rather let the God of comfort be your God and not comfort itself.
God called Paul to break out of the box. Paul thought it was best to preach where he was comfortable/familiar with- among his country men, but the Lord told him" Go, for i will send you far away to the Gentiles. Acts 22:21. It is God desires to do new things, for His word is new every morning.
Breaking New grounds is also getting the gospel to where it has not been known or established. We have been saved to serve unto good works,every missionary/ minister must break new grounds for the Gospel of Christ. Breaking new ground involves intimacy, prayers and revelation of the Spirit of God.
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland..- Isaiah 43:18-19
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,- Philippians 3:13.
Sow righteousness for yourselves,
reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes
and showers his righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12
