RIDING ON THE STORM

As I write, looking out my window, I can see tree branches that came down in the wind storm of the last few days. Earlier in November, Jesus gave me an interesting message for what would be coming, not just for me, but for many of His children. It was this:

“In the coming days and months, it will feel like the enemy is shaking foundations, and throwing much effort into disrupting and attacking many of my people, but don’t focus on what you perceive him to be doing – look up! I am riding on the storm, and I will partner with those who will persevere in faith and prayer, believing that I am the God who miraculously saves His people and decidedly turns the tables on the darkness.
I am the God of the third day. I am the God who brings extravagant victory when the enemy thinks he has won.
I am the God who’s love overcomes ALL fear so press into my presence!”

My heart was filled with peace, and even a sense of excitement to see how Jesus would turn tumultuous circumstances around for His glory and the deliverance of His people.

Since then, foundations have indeed been shaken and we have felt as though we are weathering onslaught after onslaught against both ourselves and those most dear to us.

Why do I share this now? Because you too may be in the thick of the storm or walking with some one who is. Two scriptures have stood out to me in this season that I hope will encourage you too.

But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dis-honor will never be forgotten. Jer 20:11

Psalm 2

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

When we face the storm of life and the enemy’s best attempts to derail our destiny and steal our joy, it is paramount we re rember that God is not shaken, nor is He absent.  He wants to partner with us to see His power and glory come through in our situation as we look continuously to Him for perspective and help.

I am reminded that The Lord inhabits (is enthroned on) the praises of His people. As we worship and praise Jesus in the storm, we change the storm from dictating our lives to enthroning Jesus in that position, and our vantage point in the battle changes.  Pressing in can make the difference in outcome and trust is not proved until we feel reason to doubt.  That is why God calls us to worship – He knows it positions us to receive victory and divine strategy, strengthening our intimacy with Him as He brings peace to our storm.

So if this is you, or some one you know, Please be encouraged!  You have opportunity with every struggle, to gain something beautiful and eternal when you partner with God, and worship opens the doors as He leads us through step by step to victory!
